[Post Article] KCCP’s 28th Annual General Membership Meeting
On March 23, the Korean Chamber of Commerce Philippines commemorated its 28th years in service during the Annual General Membership Meeting at the Ayala Ballroom of Makati Sports Club. The event is the first in-person annual meeting of the chamber since the pandemic.
His Excellency Ambassador Kim Inchul of the Korean Embassy gave his congratulatory message to the Korean Chamber of Commerce of Commerce Philippines followed by words of encouragement from the Philippines-Korea Economic Council (PHILKOREC) Chairman . Ret. Gen. Enrique Atanacio.
Highlights of the program were the business briefings by Dr. Bernardo “Bernie” M. Villegas, a renowned economist and professor in the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) who shared his insights on the Philippine Economic Forecast and Director General Kim Myung Soo of KOTRA Manila who discussed about the Philippine Korea Economic Relations.
A report on the scholarship program of KCCP was also presented by KCCP Honorary President and Scholarship Committee Chair Mr. Jae Jung Jang in which he announced the current collegiate scholars from NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. He also introduced Ms. Ia Denise Collantes, one of the graduating KCCP Scholars in attendance, to give her testimony as a scholar of the chamber, afterwards, KCCP through Mr. Jang and KCCP President Mr. Hyunchong Um presented a Certificate of Scholarship Support through PHILKOFA President, Mr. Lorenzo Moron.
During the meeting, KCCP President Mr. Hyunchong Joseph Um also presented KCCP’s important agenda such as the membership fee, IDs, committees. KCCP Board Members and Officers were also introduced during the event.
The event was a success and attended by KCCP members, partner organizations and special guests such as the Korean Embassy Councelors Mr. Kwon, Soo Hyun and Lee, Won Sik, Commercial Attache, Mr. An, Eung Soo, KOICA Country Director Mr. Kim Eun Sub, KOTRA Director General Mr. Kim, Myung Soo, HRD Korea Director Mr. Kim, Yeon Hong, United Korean Community Association Chairman Mr. Chang Ik Kang, United Korean Community Association President Mr. Jae Sin Sim, Mr. Jong Sub Lee, President of Korean Veterans Association in the Philippines, Philippine Korea Economic Council (PHILKOREC) Ret. Gen. Enrique S. Atanacio, Philippine KOICA Fellows Association (PHILKOFA) President Engr. Lorenzo Moron and other guests.
KCCP is moving towards more activities in person, President Mr. Um also reiterates the KCCP Board Members’ commitment to be of more service to the chamber members and encourage more companies to actively join the KCCP.
